Well, in 2 days and a wake-up my son is going to be 2 years old.. Where has the time gone. He is running around, babbling up a storm. We go for his 2 yr check up tomorrow so we'll see how he ranks against his own. We're going to have a party for him on Saturday, a fiesta, if you will. We're having tacos and all the fixings, a pinata, a water balloon toss and maybe even gutter boat races. Should be fun. The weather has been ridiculously hot around here so we figured a water balloon toss would be perfect.
I'll check back in a few days and post some pictures.
A Day in the Life of Us!!!
We are a family of 3 and a dog named Gus. Trying to live life to the fullest and enjoy he ride as we go.

Oh to be young again.....
A few weekends ago we went to Chicago with the Chayers. Needless to say we were kid free and enjoying an adult weekend. We flew in on Friday afternoon, checked into the hotel and then headed out to see how many drinks we could consume. Well it wasn't actually a mission it was just something that 'happened'. HA!
And so we've arrived!!!! I think this was at LUX Bar. We went to so many but it was still early in the night. Dinner reservations were at Carmines, a great Italian restaurant which is part of the Rosebud Restaurant collections. Very Tasty!!
It was a little chilly out as we were sitting on the patio, but it was set up really nice so it actually looks like we were inside. Great spot if you ever get to Chicago, right on Rush St. Nummy.
We woke up Saturday hoping for some nice weather since were going to the Cubs game at Wrigley, but unfortunately it was chilly, again, and a little rainy. We lasted until about the 6th inning before it really started to rain. Our seats were amazing and it would have topped off the day if it would have been a little sunnier, or at least no rain, BOO!!
We were in the 2nd row right next to the visitors bull pen. The Cubs were playing the Cincinnati Reds, the Cubs did win but I was hoping to go home with a foul ball or something sitting that close. But nobody gave one up and I went home alone. Well without the ball that is.
It was a really fun weekend. We thought we were 21 again and felt all of our ages the next day but muddled through and had a blast......Till the next time, Chicago................

My first time REALLY sailing!
Acouple Wednesdays ago when Jed was off work and had Gavin for the day, they turned it into a father/son sailing day. Along with Grandma and Grandpa some sunshine and a little bit of wind, it turned out to be a fantastic day. This is a picture of them driving the boat.....
And this is of Gavin tightening the jib. Gavin and Gus did well and I'm sure are looking for the next day on the water...
Grandma and Gavin steering the boat....
Gavin pumping out the bildge...
and plotting waypoints on the GPS. There may not be a better place for a busy little boy than on a sailboat. Lots to do and play with. All in a days work!!

Fresh start with the whole Family..
When I first created this blog it was right after we got our new puppy, Gus. I thought it would be fun to create a blog from his perspective and write it from his point of view. Well, that was crazy talk. HA! It was harder and much more silly than I imagined. So I updated here and there but as you can see I haven't been very good at it.
I look at the blog that my sister-in-law keeps and it could be published. It's so fun and I feel like I am right there with them.
I will try and do better with keeping our blog updated. We now have more reasons than ever to start up again. Our son Gavin will be 2 in July and he is growing up so fast.. Life has changed a lot since we first started this so when I get some stuff together I'll update soon.

1st Haircut
Today started off like any other day. We woke up, went out to pee, had some breakfast, played with my new toy and then I was surprised to find out that I was going for a car ride.
Awesome!!! Oh.....wait....I've never been on this route before.....where are we going......uhoh. Last time they did this I woke up and they had taken my manhood. Crap I fell for it!! They say "Gus, you wanna go for a ride, go in the car". I just can't resist. Well sure enough they took me to some lady's house who's name is Lynda. She seems pretty nice, but why is there a Miniature Schnauzer leashed up in the bath tub. Why is there a table in the middle of the room, and why are there all these sharp, shiny instruments all over. I find out that this Schnauzer is her own dog and he is getting his weekly bath. I guess this doesn't seem so bad, as long as they don't leave me......hey wait where are you going.....you can't leave me!!!!!!
I can't believe this. Well as long as I'm here I guess I'll see what this Lynda lady has to say. She actually turned out to be pretty nice. She gave me a bath and then we got to cutting. Wow does this feel good. She told me that my mom and dad should have gotten me in about a month ago for a hair cut, and that I was like a woolly bear.
Finally my mom and nana came and picked me up. They were so excited to see me and I was soooo excited to see them and show them my new hair cut. I have been told that I'm super soft now, and very cute. Well long story longer, I got to go home. Here are some new pictures of me and my new hair cut. I'm told th

The new addition to the Santerre Family...
As of this coming Tuesday, I will be 12 weeks pregnant. We will be at the end of the first trimester.
This past Wed. Jan. 7th, we went to hear the heartbeat for the first time. It was really kind of surreal. We first asked the Dr. if that was it when he first put the device onto my belly. He said, "nope thats yours". We kind of chuckled. In the movies it's that loud. I guess we expected that it would just be right there and we'd have no question that is what we heard. Well we were wrong. While Jed and I listened very intently and me not really breathing so I could hear, both heard little flutters we thought were the heartbeat. They could have been. Baby must have been moving around quite a bit since the Dr. had a hard time following it after he heard it the first time. But as he said, with his trained ear, everything is great and we should be out of the woods for any mishaps. Thank God!
Please keep us in your prayers that everything continues as it should.
Hopefully we'll keep up to date a little bit more now that we have some exciting things happening and it's not all about Gus. =) Although if you lived with him you'd probably find him as exciting as we do.

It's Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I was up on this wonderful Christmas Eve morning at 5:30 AM. Yes, I had to work today at 7 am. I'm sitting here at my desk at work, working really hard mind you, where I've had one phone call in an hour. Do I need to say it's going to be a......loooonnngggg............day? But I'm VERY excited it's Christmas. My whole life my family has celebrated on the 24th. So, as some people open presents and celebrate on Christmas Day, I guess I get 2 whole days of Christmas.
This year will be kinda mellow. Our last before a whole new adventure takes place. Next year at this time we will have a new little baby with us. Yes, Jed and I are expecting the last week in July. We are very excited and just hope and pray that everything keeps moving smoothly. We go to the Doctor on the 7th and will hear the heartbeat for the first time. What an amazing ordeal.
We will be spending today at Mom and Dads. They are going to pick up Gus this afternoon, while Jed and I are working. He will be so excited since he LOVES being with Nana and Papa. I think they secretly enjoy it to. But not enough to get their own, so they can share ours. =) While we were packing last night, to stay at M+Ds tonite, Gus could tell something was just a little off. He couldn't figure out why we were packing our things. He especially got curious when we were packing his bag. Boy did he follow me around. He didn't even let Jed out the door this morning to drive me to work without bee-lining to the car to come with. Won't he be excited with the next couple days.
Tomorrow we'll be spending the afternoon with Jed's family at his parents house in Northfield. That's why we thought it would be easier to just stay at M+Ds for the night and spend Christmas morning with them and go from there. Less driving on our 'Oh so snowy roads' we now have. WELCOME TO WINTER EVERYONE!!!!!!
Well It's now 9:15 am and I got another call in there and now I'm on break. Ugh! It's been such a tough day so far.
Merry Christmas Everyone. much love to all!!!!!!!

Here I am again................
So I woke up on this lovely Friday a couple weeks ago and when my Dad took me outside there was this white stuff...........EVERYWHERE. So I put my paw down in it, it was kinda cold and then I realized how much fun it could be. I LOVE THE COLD. I ride in the car in this weather with the windows down. Some of you might think I'm crazy, but have you seen how much fur I have. It gets hot under here. This is me sitting in front of the fan. I love how it blows on my face. It feels like a window open.
OK, Now they made me come in. Its SO fun. I can't wait til it snows again. They told me we have, like, 5 more months of that stuff. YIPPEE!!!

Our trip to Florida.....
This is a view from the boat we rented. Its a dog park on the beach. Its beautiful, but Gus would hate it, To Hot!!!
Jed and I went to Florida a couple weeks ago with our friends Jen and Josh. You never know what its gonna be like living in close quarters for a week with people you never traveled with before, but as luck would have it, it was a great success!!!!
We had a blast! Lots of laughs, drinks, more laughs, and did I mention drinks???
We got into town on a Sunday and made our way to the beach. We stopped at the Parrot Key restaurant on the beach. It was great as always. A great way to introduce Jen and Josh to the laid back environment of Ft Myer Beach. After dinner we headed to the condo to prepare our self for full relaxation.
The next day we visited my Gram. Shes 93 yrs young and still going strong. It was great to see her as always. I wish she lived closer or maybe I should go to Florida more often.....Now that's a thought, Hmmm
Josh with Grams dog, Peaches........
This is what the little sign on the front of the statue said. I guess some people wanted to get cozy with the Tiki guy. Good thing we can read............
We went to this new restaurant that opened on the beach. It was really good, but can't remember the name, But truly it was great! Jed and I were introduced to our new favorite cocktail, Orange soda. It consists of orange flavored vodka and lemon lime soda with an orange slice to boot. Jen and Josh opted for the umbrella drinks. Why not you're in Florida right???
So here we are, at the beach and driving a convertable, not to shabby huh?!!
I guess Josh was a little nervous........
Or was Jed putting the moves on again..............
Jen and I.......
The gang at Docs Beach House, with our favorite servers, Jodi and Sando..
Our driver, Jed, on the pontoon in the back waters. It was beautiful out...........

Hoyt Cup Weekend..Lake City Yacht Club
Well, It's Sunday evening and we just got home from Lake City not to long ago. It was a great weekend! We took first in the Hoyt Cup, which is the last regatta of the year, that is named after a guy with the last name Hoyt. Hence the name Hoyt Cup...
Jed, Gus and I got down to LCYC on Friday night. It was Gus' first weekend on the boat. He did really well. He was a little nervous at first walking down the dock but got the hang of it.

I got to spend some quality time yesterday watching my Dad out sailing. Sorry the picture is so far away. They were going so fast it was hard to keep them in the view finder.

Here I am in the V Berth where I'd like to be sleeping, BUT.........even though the cushions are waterproof.......mom and dad say the blankets are not.

Gus had a lot of "firsts" this weekend. Being on the boat was a big one, being this is a big part of our summer weekends. He met a golden doodle named Wilson. He was a GIANT Gus. It was hilarious to watch them play. I think Wilson thought he had a shadow he just couldn't shake.
I don't think I've ever seen Gus that pooped out. With all the fresh air and playing much harder than usual he has slept every moment he can. But he got up today, still pretty tired, and gave a great effort and did it all over again today.
DauNae, Pam (my sis-in-law and mother-in-law) took the dogs to the beach. I wasn't sure what Gus would do but he had a blast. Kimball went straight to the water, and Gus, being the tag a long puppy that must do what the big kids do, tagged right along with him. He loved it!!!!
And at the water..............
Oh, by the way...did I mention when Gus was sniffing the nice bush in the middle of the beach that said bush was full of burrs!!! Poor guy, his face, under belly and front legs had quite a few stuck in his hair. But we got them out. Whew!!!
